Description of Services : Susan Lawson Educational Consulting located in Oakville, Ontario in the Greater Toronto Area provides advice and guidance to a number of different populations. I work with Canadian high school students applying to colleges and universities in the United States, UK and Canada. I also advise American and Canadian students living in the US on applying to Canadian universities. I work with athletes, students with learning differences, graduate and professional school applicants as well as young adults looking for career or education guidance.
I pride myself on developing strong, trusting relationships with my students so that I am in the best possible position to find schools and programs that are a good fit. I continue to expand my knowledge by attending conferences, workshops and campus tours.
Description of Experience : In the past 8 years I have worked/am working with 466 clients. The majority of my students are in high school and looking for assistance with respect to US, UK and Canadian schools. I have worked with a significant number of elite athletes and am well versed in NCAA regulations. A number of my clients are applicants to graduate, professional or direct entry medical programs. I also work with young adults who have been unsuccessful at university, helping them to find a new path. Some of my clients are recent university graduates seeking assistance regarding further education and potential career paths.
I interview applicants for The Loran Scholars Foundation a national scholarship program and provide guidance to 6-10 scholarship recipients annually. I volunteer with Trust 15 an after school program for high achieving at risk students in a mentoring capacity.
