Based in Larkspur, in Marin County, CA, I began doing test-prep tutoring and providing college planning guidance following a successful career in financial services marketing and years of non-profit board service. I am a Certified Educational Planner and I have a Certificate in College Admission Counseling – Earned with Distinction – from UCLA, in addition to a B.A. in Economics (Cornell University) and an M.S. in Taxation (Golden Gate University). I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners, the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), and the National and Western Associations for College Admission Counseling (NACAC/WACAC).

Description of Services : I help each of my students to get a sense of their interests so we can identify their best path to achieving their higher education goals. Then I search for schools that are a good fit and create a balanced college list that reflects their individual needs. I also assess their activities and recommend changes as appropriate to be sure that each student ultimately submits the strongest applications possible. I teach students how to do research on colleges so they know what to look for when determining if a school is a good fit for them. Creating a balanced list that reflects the student's needs and interests while providing guidance so they write carefully crafted, on-point application essays and supplements, ensures that each student will experience an excellent acceptance rate to the schools on their lists. I also guide student-athletes through the recruiting process by targeting the best-fit schools/athletic programs for their needs/interests. From contacting coaches and completing recruiting questionnaires thru regular communication with coaches and support when weighing offers, students are guided as they navigate this process so they ultimately make the best decision based on their individual needs.
Description of Experience : I began my college consulting business in 2007 when I started working part-time for a local test prep company tutoring high school students in the English/Reading/Writing portions of the ACT and SAT. As part of my UCLA college counseling certificate program, I did my practicum at San Rafael High School with the College Dream Team and continued to volunteer there for several years after that. Since 2019, I have been volunteering with ScholarMatch, supporting students who are first in their families to apply to college.
