Laurie Kopp Weingarten is a Certified Educational Planner and President of One-Stop College Counseling. She graduated with a BSE from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Beginning with eighth grade students, Laurie guides teens through each stage of the college admissions process. She covers everything from high school course selection, standardized test choices, extra-curricular activity enhancement, volunteer work, summer jobs/internships, essay topic selection, resume guidance, early decision/early action strategies and all other situations that arise during the high school years! She is passionate about helping students reach their full potential.
Laurie visits colleges and universities regularly and speaks directly with admissions officers to remain up-to-date on current admissions practices. She is also featured often in print, radio, and on television.
Awarded the CEP, Laurie is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), and a member of HECA, NACAC, NJACAC and PACAC. She is also a Commissioner of AICEP.
She has two children who, in the time it takes to blink, suddenly became young adults. One graduated from Princeton and the other graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
Description of Services : At One-Stop, we work hard to demystify the college admission process for you. Our counselors will meet with students, beginning as early as 9th grade,and their families to gain a comprehensive understanding of the applicant’s goals and future aspirations. They will then develop the best possible plan, unique and personalized, to ensure your student’s success in the competitive world of college admissions!
Description of Experience : Work with students beginning in 9th grade. Cover all apects of college admission: course selection, SAT/ACT choice and how to prep for the test, extra-curricular activity advice, help with essays and interview prep, guidance in summer choices, volunteer work and employment.
