Description of Services : We provide assistance with the college selection and application process including refining student's academic and extracurricular credentials, guidance regarding high school course selection, planning for standardized testing, exploration of academic interests, and development of a list of appropriate college choices. We focus on explaining, organizing and assisting in the application process including: support in the planning of creative summer activities, assistance in carrying out productive college visits, essay development, interview role-playing, advisement on supplemental materials, application review, and guidance in applying for need-based and merit-based financial aid.

Description of Experience : I have been working as an IEC for 10 years. I work with approximately 30 families/year, and I am part of a 4 person IEC practice. We routinely collaborate with, mentor, and support each other. Prior to becoming an IEC, I worked in the undergraduate admissions office at The George Washington University, where I reviewed and made admissions decisions on freshman and transfer applications. I also managed and made enrollment decisions on readmission applications for students who had separated from GW due to academic or judicial suspension or for other reasons.
