Mrs Jennie Kent
About
Jennie is a proud graduate of Northfield Mount Hermon School, received her B.A. from Skidmore College and has a Masters in Education from Framingham State as well as a certificate in independent educational consulting from UC Irvine. An active member of her associations, Jennie is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and has served on their Outreach, Global, and Nominating Committees, as faculty for Summer Training Institute, and also co-founded and leads a networking and learning space for newer members. She is a member of the National Association of College Admission Counseling, the International Association of College Admission Counseling, and the Higher Education Consultants Association as well as being a member of the Small Boarding Schools Association and the Enrollment Management Association. To get a feel for institutional culture and expand her knowledge, she has visited over 450 schools and universities around the world. Convinced that transparency, access, and affordability are critical in admissions, Jennie annually compiles important admission and financial aid resources. In her downtime, Jennie enjoys reading, watching films, entering data in spreadsheets, and playing with her Abyssinian cats, Gaspar and Phat Louis.

Description of Services : Big J's services include transcript, testing, and extracurricular review, analysis of academic, career, and personal interests to identify a student's strengths and development of an appropriate school or college list, as well as strategic planning, organization, and a suggested timetable for campus visits, interviews, recommendations, and revision of essays and applications for boarding schools, colleges, or universities.
Description of Experience : I have been working with students and parents for ten years on college or boarding school placement.
