Description of Services : Comprehensive and strategic college admissions counseling for motivated students aiming for selective colleges, with an emphasis throughout on making this a positive growth experience for students and families.
Description of Experience : Previously worked for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh as a Psychologist and Child and Adolescent Development Specialist, providing in-depth neuro-developmental assessment of school age children and educational consultation; also parent training, and individual and family therapy. Over several years, using professional resources, I essentially taught myself college admissions level educational consulting as an extension of the work I used to do with children 6-16. For several several years I provided informal college advising to a number of families, and then decided to 'formalize' my counseling into a private practice back approx, a dozen years ago. I also worked as a therapist in a private university counseling center, counseling undergraduates. Lastly~ I’ve seen my own three successfully through this process and grad school admissions, so I know what it feels like to be on the “parent” side of the college admissions process, but I myself am no longer bound to the school calendar as my children are launched! I also provide some pro bono consultation to a Western-PA challenge program for high-potential students from under-resourced backgrounds.
