HECA 2025 Conference Session Proposal

Thank you for volunteering to share your skills and expertise with HECA members. Please keep the following in mind:

  • - HIT (High-Interest Topic) Proposals will receive priority consideration*
  • - Proposals must be PRINT READY  and include session title, description, and intended audience 
  • - Breakout sessions are approximately 55 minutes and will take place on Tuesday, June 10, and Wednesday, June 11, 2025
  • - Sessions are intended for the professional development of HECA members and must not be used to demonstrate or sell products, services, programs, or institutions 
  • - Each session should incorporate multiple professional perspectives (IEC, college, company, etc.)
  • - Proposals that include a HECA member as a presenter or moderator are preferred
  • - Presenters must use the provided HECA-branded title and final slides
  • - Proposals are due by midnight Eastern Time on Thursday, February 6, 2025
  • - All proposals submitted on time will receive the selection committee's decision by Thursday, March 20, 2025

*To help with proposals, High-Interest Topics (based on HECA member feedback) and the Evaluation Rubric will be shared on the conference website when submissions open.


In addition to the details provided, you are invited to self-evaluate your proposal and provide us a completed rubric (emailed to 2025conference@hecaonline.org), although that is not a requirement.


Important Dates
- Proposals are due by midnight Eastern Time on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
- Notifications will be sent by Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Presenters are required to bring appropriate adapters to hook up their laptop/tablets/phones etc. If you have additional technology needs, please list them in the "additional details" field at the bottom of this form.

Your abstract should build on your title and be as clear and concise as possible to attract the ideal audience for your session. Be sure to include what participants will take away from the session and specific content to be covered. This is the description that will be used for the conference app and website. Please explain what the audience will gain from participating in the session. Participants must receive useful, stand-alone information without needing to purchase anything. (After this session, participants will....)

With respect to the proposal evaluation rubric, which "Added Value" items will your session provide (teaches new skill, provides accessible FREE resources, actionable items as takeaways, dedicated interaction time, hands-on practice/experience, immediate impact to consultant)? (100 words or fewer)
